Who we are
Imihanda is a Rwanda business directory run from Kigali. This page explains, in plain words, what information the site handles and what happens to it. Questions or requests: support@imihanda.com.
What you send us through forms
When you add a business, claim a listing, send an enquiry, write a review, sign in, upload photos or join a waitlist, the details you type (such as your name, phone number and email) are delivered to us by our hosting provider, Netlify, and we receive them by email. We use them only to run the directory: publishing and verifying listings, passing enquiries to the business you contacted, and showing reviews with the name you gave. We never sell them or use them for advertising.
What stays on your phone
Your saved businesses, recently viewed list, chosen city, view preference and the name and email you use to sign in are stored only on your own device, in your browser. They are never sent to us or to anyone else, and clearing your browser data removes them.
Your location
The site never asks for your location on its own. If you tap Near me, your phone asks your permission, and the position is used on your device only to pick your nearest town. It is not sent anywhere and is not stored.
Business listings
The directory lists publicly known businesses so customers can find them, using public sources such as the businesses' own websites and OpenStreetMap. We do not publish invented ratings, hours or phone numbers. If a listing is about your business, you can claim it free to manage it, correct it, or ask us to remove it by email.
The map
The map view loads its background images from OpenStreetMap. Like any image loaded from another website, your device's address is visible to that service when the map is open. Nothing about you is sent by us.
What we do not do
No advertising, no selling of personal information, no tracking cookies, and no analytics trackers. The site does not profile you.
Your rights
Under Rwanda's data protection law (Law No. 058/2021), you can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we will do it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date.
